  • Impact: Sustainable farming practices and environmental protection

Project Details

Our project addressed a critical environmental challenge: water pollution from agricultural runoff. Nitrates from fertilizers contaminate water sources, creating serious environmental and health concerns. Our team developed an innovative solution that combines traditional filtration methods with modern AI technology.

Technical Approach: We designed a system using trenches and bio-waste-filled sacks that effectively filter and absorb nitrates from farm runoff. The bio-waste material acts as a natural filter, removing harmful nitrates before they reach water sources. Additionally, we integrated AI algorithms to optimize fertilizer application, reducing the initial nitrate load and promoting more sustainable farming practices.

Impact & Recognition: The judges recognized our solution for its practical applicability, technical innovation, and potential for real-world implementation. Winning both 2nd place and the Best Prototype Award validated our approach and demonstrated the power of combining environmental science with AI-driven solutions to address pressing global challenges.
